Sources of Strength at GPHS

Sources of Strength (SOS) is a nationwide, suicide prevention program that utilizes messages of “hope, health, and strength” through community-based initiatives. Through student-led group meetings, school-wide events, and community collaboration, GPHS carries out Sources of Strength’s mission of ensuring students are connected with a positive adult to support when life gets hard. Source of Strength at GPHS has been made possible by the support and collaboration between the Howard County Health Department and the HCPSS Office School Counseling.

This work takes time and funding. SOS meets every other week for small group meetings and once a quarter for full group building activities. Snacks get our brains going, and materials allow the ideas to come to fruition. If you would like to donate, please check out the following link.
