PSAT Day is Wednesday, October 14th!

Information for 10th and 11th Grade Students/Families:

  • On October 14th, Guilford Park High School will be administering the Preliminary SAT (PSAT/NMSQT)

to 10th and 11th grade students. PSAT Testing Room assignments will be available to students on Friday,

October 9th and posted in the school for review.

  • This year, students will access the PSAT test with the BlueBook app on their HCPSS Chromebook devices.

On test day, students will need to bring their fully-charged HCPSS chromebook and charger to test.

Students verified their access to the BlueBook app on their HCPSS devices in English classes.

  • Other electronic devices (including, but not limited to cell phones, ear buds, headphones, smart watches,

tablets, iPads, META glasses, etc.) are NOT permitted during testing. Students should leave at home or in

locked lockers or they may be placed into backpacks and stored in front of their testing room. Any

unapproved electronic device violation will be reported to CollegeBoard, scores may be invalidated, and

devices may be confiscated.

  • Students aren’t permitted to wear hats or head coverings (except when worn for medical or religious

reasons) while testing; if they’re wearing a head covering, they must store it under their desk. If they’re

wearing a hooded garment in the testing room, their hood must stay down during testing.

  • Any students arriving at school after 8:15am will not be able to participate in PSAT testing. It is

imperative that students arrive to school on time this day if they wish to participate in PSAT testing.

  • For students receiving accommodations, please note that the only accommodations given during the

PSAT/NMSQT are those that have been approved by the CollegeBoard. Contact your student’s case

manager for more information about requesting accommodations through CollegeBoard for future testing.

  • For more information about the PSAT, you can view the CollegeBoard website or the PSAT/NMSQT (Grade

10/11) Student Guide: https://satsuite.collegeboard.org/media/pdf/psat-nmsqt-student-guide.pdf

Information for 9th Grade Students/Families:

9th grade students will be participating in a specific 9th grade activity during the PSAT testing window as

9th grade students are ineligible to take the PSATs this year. During this activity, they will be participating in

community building, college and career readiness, and high-school academic support activities. 9th grade

room assignments will be available to students on Friday, October 9th and posted in the school for review.

Students should bring their chromebook, charger, and normal school supplies.

Information for 12th Grade Students/Families:

12th grade students are encouraged to go on college and career visits on PSAT day since we are not running

a normal bell schedule, and they are not testing. These absences will be counted as an excused local

discretion day with a note. Parents/Guardians, please forward notes to GPHSAbsence@hcpss.org.
